The hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) is a passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae. This bird is mainly resident in Europe, but many Asian birds migrate further south in the winter. I made this water color of two male birds fighting in the snow after a photo by my friend Richard Franck.
